Ryon (Skorz) > Taken somewhere on the 1300 block of Grant Ave. in San Francisco. Again, the camera exposed for the blue sky, leaving the building and fire escape woefully underexposed. Without masking (which I am loathe to do), the building cannot be brought out of shadow without blowing out the sky.

The moral here is that photography is in many ways a science. Applying known principles to predict certain results is key to success. Wandering around snapping photos in crappy light guarantees failure, with the only success brought through luck alone.
Ryon (Skorz) > Taken somewhere on the 1300 block of Grant Ave. in San Francisco. I upped the contrast on this shot and turned it to Sepia to try and detract from the unfortunately contrasty and blown-out sky. Compositionally, I am happy with this shot except for that the bottom edge of the sign is not parallel with the horizontal railings on the fire escape.
Ryon (Skorz) > As you might have guessed, taken at the corner of Grant Ave. and Green St. in San Francisco. Converted to a light sepia tone.
Ryon (Skorz) > Taken outside the Steps of Rome restaurant, in San Francisco. There is not much else to do when you are waiting an hour and a half for a table.

In retrospect, I wish I had used my sharp 50mm lens for this shot (instead of my cheapo Sigma, which has circus mirror-like distortion) and maximized my depth of field.
