After seeing the Chronicles of Narnia, and being filled with the love and knowledge that Aslan died for our sins, my friend and I went down to the Texas Capitol grounds to see if we could get any good photos and perhaps convert some heathens to Aslanianity...

We were confronted with an unusual sight, ice in Austin (not in the form of a margarita)! Like the apes from 2001: A Space Odyssey in front of the mysterious black monolith, we thumped our chests and howled at this strange new phenominon, finally setting down enough to get a few shots.

The fountain and ice is illuminated with a flash strobe. The background is illuminated by mercury vapor/tungsten, to which the camera white balance is set. This keeps the background 'natural' in color, and gives the fountain the blue cast.
